On a visit to Black Moss Pot when the water was rather low, it was not making its normal rippling patterns; then this swimmer came along and changed everything.
I don’t often paint the human form and found it such a struggle that when this painting was finished I put it away for two years without showing it to anyone.
Then somehow it got discovered and became the cover of my book.
