Snake in a Pool

I started the project of painting a snake because I felt it was time to eschew conventionally pretty subjects and tackle something that most people find repugnant.
As time went on, I began to see that this creature was not ugly but intensely beautiful and I placed it in a pool to show the connection between its markings and the patterns of light in the water.
