Biography

For many years, Christian has been painting water in watercolour.
Her landscapes of Scotland, England and Wales always include water –
usually moving powerfully in waterfalls and waves, but also tranquilly in rock pools and streams.

Born in 1937, Christian received an M.A. from St. Andrews after which she studied painting in Paris and etching at Regent Street Polytechnic in London. She has had six one-person shows in London and her work has been bought by leading figures in the world of business, politics, law and medicine – such as Simon Hornby, Sir Alistair Grant, Sir Geoffrey Mulcahy, Lord Wilson of Tillyorn and Lord and Lady Baker.

Her work is also in Flemings and Hambros Banks as well as University College Hospital and St. Mary's Paddington.
Recently, she visited Bhutan looking for new inspiration.
It surpassed her expectations and she found the combination of mountains, light and moving water as enthralling as the people and architecture.
It has resulted in new developments in her paintings, many of which now include a human element.

Christian's early work was predominantly conventional landscape.
She then discovered a natural talent for painting water and has focussed on this ever since. Using colours which she grinds herself, she has developed many innovative techniques to capture the various energies of water.

She lives in the Borders, South East Scotland.

Christian is prepared to travel anywhere in the U.K. to show her portfolio
to clients, with no obligation.
Her price range is £400 - £12,500 or $600 - $25,000
